The Illinois Commerce Commission’s decision to cut the proposed rate increases from gas utilities Nicor and Ameren by nearly 50% shows that regulatory leadership is putting customers first and that gas utilities must focus future investments on infrastructure that is both cost-effective and prudent with respect to the state’s policy goals.
