Arnav Gautam is a Senior Consultant in the Distribution System Planning and DER Integration practices. With years of experience in power systems, policy analysis, and software development within the energy sector, Arnav creates custom simulation and optimization tools applied towards projects involving grid resilience, DER integration, and demand-side modeling. Prior to joining CEG, Arnav worked in research and industry organizations, including Argonne National Laboratory and Clean Power Research, was named a fellow of the Macro Energy Systems organization, and held volunteer positions within the IEEE Power and Energy Society.
Arnav holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from the Department of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University, where he was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. He also holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and a B.A. in Cognitive Science, from the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholar.
