Erik is a Consultant in the Gas Transition practice. He is an expert in energy and innovation policy, with an emphasis on deep decarbonization. 

He joins CEG from the U.S. Department of Energy. At DOE, Erik designed, supported, and implemented programs targeting critical topics like regional geothermal energy deployment, the use of artificial intelligence to reduce interconnection timelines, strengthening American manufacturing, and supporting communities transitioning retiring energy assets. He is an expert in government partnership mechanisms and was instrumental in establishing DOE’s Partnership Intermediary Agreement service — enabling nearly $1B in innovative programs and receiving a Secretary’s Honor Award.  

Erik brings a holistic perspective towards complex energy policy issues, leveraging his experiences at the Department of Energy and in previous roles at the Energy Futures Initiative Foundation, the Virginia Department of Energy, and the Breakthrough Institute. He is a proud Utah State University Aggie and a member of Tau Beta Pi and Sigma Phi Epsilon.
