Katrina is a Senior Consultant in the Power System Planning practice at Current Energy Group. She is an expert in electric utility regulation, clean energy policy, and data analysis.
Prior to joining CEG, Katrina worked across nonprofit advocacy, corporate net-zero strategy, and sustainability program management. Most recently, Katrina served as a California Climate & Energy Fellow at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), where she co-authored recommendations — in the form of public comments submitted to the California Public Utilities Commission — on California’s proposed Reliable and Clean Power Procurement Program, examining questions of clean energy procurement, grid-connected resource adequacy, and emissions leakage in wholesale electricity markets. Prior to NRDC, Katrina spent two years as a Program Manager on the Climate Ops team at Google, where she delivered landscape analysis and strategy decks used by senior leadership to evaluate clean energy investment decisions and supported 24/7 carbon-free electricity optimization modeling. Her analytical toolkit includes optimization modeling in Julia and Python, econometric analysis in R, and Excel-based quantitative modeling, with applied experience in electricity market economics, utility rate structures, and California’s regulatory and policymaking apparatus.
Katrina holds a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Atmosphere and Energy from Stanford University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Biology with a secondary in Energy and Environment from Harvard University, where she graduated cum laude.
